The King's Economy (1 Samuel 30)
When everything falls apart, where do you turn?
In 1 Samuel 30, David returns to Ziglag to find his city burned and every wife and child taken captive. Overcome with grief — and facing a mutiny from his own men — he could have turned to blame, despair, or his own strength.
Instead, he did something remarkable: David strengthened himself in Yahweh his God. This sermon explores what that looks like in practice, and how God's answers to our crises often come through what looks weak and insignificant — like a sick, abandoned slave on the side of the road. And ultimately, we see in Jesus Christ the answer David's story was always pointing to: a King who meets us in our weakness, bears our burdens, and invites us to his table.
