We believe…

God made it.

Adam broke it.

Jesus fixes it.

● the gospel in 5 minutes

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

We believe in Reformed
Theology

As a member of the Presbyterian Church in America, we believe in Reformed Theology, which emphasizes the glory of God, the supreme authority of God’s Word, and God’s free gift of eternal life received through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • The Bible is the Word of the Living God, breathed out by God through his chosen human authors, for the guidance of His people so that they might glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.

  • We believe that humanity is male and female, made in the image of God. We were created to worship him, to develop culture, and to be fruitful and multiply - giving God the glory. We rebelled and are born with the “heart disease” of sin, which fully inclines us to live at cross-purposes with God. Through the work of Christ and the Holy Spirit we are made new creatures, reconciled to God and enabled to join God in his mission in every area of life.

  • We know God only as He has made Himself known to us. He has revealed that he is the uncreated Creator, and therefore completely spiritual. He is the only God; He is one. He is also the Savior and Redeemer of his creation. When He sent His Son to save his creation he more fully revealed that although he is one, he is three in person. God the Father is fully God, God the Son is fully God, and the God the Holy Spirit is fully God. God is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in all of his wonderful attributes.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God become fully man. He lived a life of perfect unbroken communion with, and obedience to, God. According to God’s eternal plan he was crucified on a Roman cross for the sins of his people. Three days after later Christ physically rose from the dead! Sinners can be reconciled to God and live a new life since Christ has died and risen for them. Christ will return again to make all things new, bringing the fullness of salvation to those who are expectantly waiting for him.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit brings the resurrection life of Jesus to his people. He indwells the Church and every believer in Christ giving them faith and moving them to obey the will of God. He gives gifts to every believer to use in service to others, so that the Church can carry out her mission more effectively till Christ returns.

  • Salvation is a gift of God received by trusting in Christ. Trust, or faith, is depending on Jesus - and not ourselves - to be reconciled to God. It is saying, “I believe that Jesus’ perfect life and substitutionary death is all that is necessary to bring me back into communion with God forever.” Trusting in Christ also means saying, “I trust Him so much I will do what he tells me to.” Therefore, salvation is about more than knowing that we go to heaven when we die. It is about knowing God now, and living for him now, even as we await Christ’s return and the perfect life we will enjoy in that future world.

  • We believe that Christ will come again to reward his people who are eagerly waiting for him, and to fairly and justly judge those who continue in their rebellion against God. The heavens and the earth will be cleansed of the effects of sin and God’s people will enjoy life in that renewed and even more glorious place.
